Video Killed the Radio Star

It’s no huge secret that technology is moving at the speed of “wait, I need an upgrade already?” these days. Today you send highly-personalized emails. 15 years ago you sent snail mail. Oh what a brave new world, right?

For a professional trying to maintain “the edge”, it can be a little overwhelming figuring out what technology to invest your time in. “Do I jump on the Twitter bandwagon? Do I update my Twitter account? What in the world is Twitter?”

You’ve already given your email a fresh new face with your Bojo; congrats, you’re an early-adopter (marketing term for ‘tech savvy hipster’). Whether you realize it or not, you’re ahead of the curve. You invested time, money, blood, sweat, and tears into implementing new technology…so why not let that technology make your working life more productive?

Let’s focus on some of the basics.

Videos. We love our videos, don’t we? (hint: Google purchased Youtube for $1.65 billion. Apparently, we LOVE our videos.) As a professional, how do you take advantage of this with your Bojo? Here are some ideas…

1. Make an introduction video. Simple. “Hi, I’m Regan Cannon. I work in Marketing at Email Ideas, where we strive to revolutionize your online presence, etc. etc.” It doesn’t have to be a Hollywood production, and it doesn’t have to break the 30-second mark. What you’ve done is broken the ice, established a vocal/visual relationship, and made a highly personal first impression–without so much as picking up a phone. In real estate, that level of professionalism is gold. How much is that worth to you?

Well happy day, because it’s free anyway! Upload your video to Youtube, copy your Youtube URL (www.youtube.com/yourvideo), and add it to a Bojo tab. Give it a title like “Meet Me” or “the Tao of Regan”. Incite that reader to check you out.

2. Video tours. I’ll stick with real estate examples for a second. 360-degree virtual tours? Old news. Images? Older news. Make a video walk-thru of your featured listing, provide audio commentary, point out the granite and the wood and the stainless steel. Upload to Youtube, update your Bojo tabs, reap the rewards.

For all you non-real estate folks, the same principles apply. Give a tour of your office and introduce the staff. People feel so much more comfortable working with a recognizable face and voice. Introduction videos are an industry best practice already.

Alright, that’s all for now. I don’t want to spoil your appetite.

We’ve amassed boatloads more information, tips, tricks, and advice on how to maximize your Bojo’s effectiveness. So y’all come back now, ya hear?

Chartography 101

Welcome to the inaugural Bojo Blog!

Let’s get straight to it, shall we? I’ve got news!

“Real activity maps” are the newest internet craze. Haven’t seen one yet? Well I won’t waste time describing it. Check ours out.

Wait, you’re back? Many are lured by the map’s charms and never return.

What you’re seeing are Bojos being viewed, live. We think this is pretty cool. Stay tuned long enough and you’ll see the map jump to Saskatoon, Cancun, Rangoon; you name it, Bojos pop up there. It’s one thing if this is only a distracting, mesmerizing way to waste an hour. But what does it mean for you?

If you’re a Bojo user, it means the power of proliferation is on your side. Our global expansion is rapid, and you get to reap the rewards. You gain the respect and deference of your peers, your boss, your underlings, and your industry. Your personal and company exposure is increasing dramatically–all because you know a good thing when you see it. Here’s to you, Real Professional of Genius.

If you’re an advertiser (or potential advertiser), well…you’re salivating by now, I’m sure. Every time a Bojo jumps up, that’s a BojoAd impression. We’re just shy of 1 million per month now. That sounds great on paper and all, but this really puts it on the map. *chuckles*

I won’t get too sales-pitchy on you (because let’s be honest, the map sort of does that for me), but this represents an Internet first: non-spam email advertising. The fact that it’s geo-targeted and micro-manageable is just icing on a very tasty cake. *note to self: use “Tastycake” in next marketing campaign…*

Needless to say, we’re pretty excited around here. Why am I sharing with you, you ask? Simple, really. Our users and customers are important to us, and we want you to get the most out of your Bojo.
